Frequently Asked Questions
HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is the default photo format on iPhones and iPads since iOS 11. It produces smaller files than JPG at the same quality, but isn't supported everywhere.
Many apps, websites, Windows PCs, and email clients don't support HEIC. Converting to JPG ensures your photos work everywhere — it's the most universally compatible image format.
At the default 85% quality setting, the difference is virtually invisible. JPG compression is very efficient for photographs.
Currently you can convert one image at a time. Upload your HEIC photo, convert it, download, and repeat for additional images.
Go to Settings → Camera → Formats → select 'Most Compatible'. This saves photos as JPG instead of HEIC. However, HEIC files are 40-50% smaller, so you may prefer to convert as needed.
You can upload HEIC images up to 25MB. Most iPhone photos are well under this limit.
